Two “Transition Points” (T-1 & T-2) can be tricky, so here’s what to do:

1. Pick your Race Packet up on July 13th, Friday, at Lakewood City Hall.  Set your bike up with your race number and get all your gear ready the night before.

2. On Race Day, July 14th, go to American Lake for bike drop between 6AM and 7AM.  Volunteers will check you into T-1.  Place your bike on the bike racks according to your number and leave your bike/swim gear in T-1.

Drive back to Fort Steilacoom Park with your RUNNING GEAR ONLY (Running Shoes, Race Number, Hat, Sunglasses, drink, nutrition). Park your car at Fort Steilacoom Park.

3.  Set up your Running gear (Running shoes, Race Number, Hat, Sunglasses, drink, nutrition) in T-2 (Fort Steilacoom Park).

Ride the Shuttle back to American Lake – Last Shuttle from Fort Steilacoom Park leaves at 8:20.  Don’t wait till the last shuttle!

Once back at American Lake, ensure your Bike is all set up, get your wetsuit on, warm up and get ready to race.  Using this Free Shuttle method, your vehicle will be at Fort Steilacoom Park – The finish line.  Your gear from T-1 (which you have placed in a marked T-1 Bag) will be brought to Fort Steilacoom Park by the City of Lakewood.

T-1 will close at 8:40AM.  Participants should be warmed up by 8:40, including your swim warm-up.  The City of Lakewood’s opening ceremony will begin at 8:45, followed by the Race Directors safety briefing and the start at 9AM.

Athletes may use a spouse, friend, fellow athlete as a shuttle system, but we have provided a free and convenient shuttle for your use.
